Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for her role as the character Detective Diane Russell. Her other credits include her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a housewife. Her childhood was spent in a family which included four brothers. As a child she was aspired to become a reporter for the court. However, after graduating from high school and moving in New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap opera All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's private life isn't as content and successful. The talented actor has had to battle alcoholism, as well as two marriages that failed. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of the only child that she had.
